Stark County Weed Control Board Update: 2026 Season
Prioritizing Field Operations: The Stark County Weed Board has shifted our primary focus this season toward ROW (Right-of-Way) treatments along county and state roadways. To allow our Weed Control Officer, Travis Jepson, the necessary time in the field for these spraying operations, we have updated our Landowner Assistance Program (LAP).
LAP Cost-Share Program: We remain committed to supporting noxious weed control on private rangeland and pasture. Through the LAP, landowners can still purchase eligible herbicides at a reduced rate (70% County / 30% Landowner). Travis is our sole specialist available to assist with weed identification and herbicide selection to ensure your treatments are effective.
Appointments & Scheduling: Because Travis is handling both the ROW spraying and Cost-Share appointments, ALL HERBICIDE PICKUPS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
- To Schedule: Please submit your application and we will process the form and book an appointment for you.
- Available Dates: Please refer to the green-shaded weeks on the 2026 Cost-Share Calendar for designated pickup windows and plan accordingly. We strongly encourage landowners to schedule their appointments during our early spring pickup weeks. This ensures you have the necessary herbicides on hand to begin spraying as soon as weather and plant growth permits.
