Passport Renewal
The Recorder's Office can review and assist in assembling renewal applications. Applicants will need to mail their application.
Please schedule an appointment or stop in the office if assistance is needed.
Applicants are eligible to renew passports by mail if their most recent passport:
- Can be submitted with the application,
- Is not damaged (other than normal wear and tear),
- Has never been reported lost or stolen,
- Was issued within the last 15 years,
- Was issued when the applicant was age 16 or older, and
- Was issued in their current name or the applicant must provide a name change document, such as a certified copy of a marriage certificate or divorce decree.
To renew a passport:
- Complete the DS-82 Passport Renewal Application in black ink only.
- Attach a new passport photo to the application as indicated on the form.
- Submit the current passport with the application.
- Attach 1 check or money order paid to the U.S. Department of State to the application. Please include the applicant's full name and date of birth on the check or money order.
Submit the application, passport, and payment through the mail. It is recommended to use a USPS Priority or Priority Express envelope to obtain a tracking number.
